For sons and daughters who can’t be there every week
Help for Your Parent in Las Vegas, From Someone You Can Trust
Errands, groceries, prescriptions, appointments, paperwork and a regular friendly visit, with an update to you after each one. Practical, non-medical help from Daniel Gillespie, 38 years in Las Vegas.
What I Can Do for Your Mom or Dad
- Groceries and errands from a list, or done together if they enjoy the trip out.
- Prescription pickups and the post office, dry cleaning and household supplies.
- Appointments: getting there and back in their own car, and waiting while they are seen.
- Bills and paperwork: sorting the mail and making sure nothing important is missed.
- The house: letting in repair people, checking the AC before summer and booking the vendors it needs.
- A regular visit: a coffee, a chat and a second pair of eyes, with a short update to you afterwards.
Full details are on the non-medical senior help page.
How It Works From Out of State
- Send a request through the form. I’ll call you back to talk through what your parent needs.
- I meet your parent, with you on the phone if you like, so everyone is comfortable.
- We agree a regular schedule and I give you a quote before anything starts.
- After each visit you get a short message: what was done, how they seemed, anything to watch.
What this is not
I do not provide hands-on personal care such as bathing, dressing or toileting, and I do not give medical care or manage medication. If that is needed, a licensed home care agency is the right choice, and I am happy to handle the errands, appointments and house alongside them.
If the House Will Be Empty
When a parent moves into care or in with family, the house they leave still needs looking after. I can check it regularly with home watch visits, deal with the mail and let in agents and contractors, and I can help clear and declutter the home when the time comes.
“Danny became my Uncle Joe’s driver, friend and confidant until he passed in 2018. We came to rely on Danny to be there for Joe, giving us much peace of mind.”
