Henderson Is Not Just South Las Vegas
I’m Daniel Gillespie, a 38-year resident of the valley. Plenty of pet sitters list Henderson and then quietly decline anything past Green Valley Parkway, because the drive out to Anthem or Lake Las Vegas eats their whole schedule.
I cover it properly, and I’d rather tell you up front if your dates don’t work than take the booking and send someone else. The practical difference in Henderson is the housing: larger lots, more pools, more gated communities with their own access rules, and more homeowners who are away for weeks rather than long weekends.
That changes the job. Gate codes and guard lists get handled before you leave, pool gates get checked on every visit, and the walkthrough matters as much as the pet care.
Areas I Cover in Henderson
If your neighbourhood isn’t listed, ask anyway. Most of Henderson is workable, and I’ll be straight with you if it isn’t.
- Green Valley and Green Valley Ranch. Closest in and easiest to fit around other visits, including twice-daily cat drop-ins.
- Anthem and Anthem Country Club. Gated, hillside, and typically larger properties. Gate access gets arranged before you travel.
- Seven Hills. Pools and larger lots are the norm, so pool gate and equipment checks are part of each visit.
- MacDonald Highlands and Ascaya. Guard-gated estates where vendor coordination is often part of the brief alongside the pets.
- Inspirada and Cadence. Newer family areas, lots of dogs, and a lot of regular walking slots.
- Lake Las Vegas. Further out, but covered. Worth booking earlier since there is less slack in the schedule.
What You Can Book
Drop-in pet visits
Feeding, water, litter, medication and a proper check on how the animal actually is. One or two visits a day depending on the pet.
Overnight stays
Someone actually in the house. Usually the right call for dogs, for longer trips, and for larger Henderson properties left empty.
Walks and day care
Regular walking slots and cover for long shifts, timed around the heat rather than squeezed into the middle of the day.
House checks alongside
Mail, packages, plants, pool gate, and a walkthrough each visit. On a long absence this is often the more valuable half.
Vendor access
Letting in pool service, landscapers or a repair you can’t reschedule, and being there while they’re on the property.
Updates you don’t chase
Photos and a short note after visits, so you know what happened without having to ask.

Do you actually cover all of Henderson?
Yes, including Anthem, Seven Hills, Inspirada, Cadence, MacDonald Highlands and Lake Las Vegas, not just Green Valley. The further-out areas have less slack in the schedule, so book earlier if you can. If your dates genuinely don’t work I will say so rather than subcontract it.
How much does a pet sitter cost in Henderson?

How does gated community access work?
We sort it before you travel. That usually means you adding me to the guard list or giving me a gate code and any HOA requirements at the meet and greet, so nothing has to be solved from the gate while you’re in another time zone.
Can you check the pool while you’re there?
I check that gates are shut and that the water and equipment look normal, and I will flag anything that looks off. I’m not a pool technician, so I don’t service it, but I can let your pool company in and be there while they work.
I’m away for several weeks at a time. Does that work?
